If you are utilizing these SEL lessons and do not have a SiLAS student roster, below are a few ways to obtain the information from the student sheet.

  • Print the student sheet as a PDF and upload it into your schools platform or means of communication
  • Copy and Paste the information in a format that works for you to obtain responses from students (for example: posting the questions on a discussion thread in your schools platform and allow for students to answer)
  • Take a screenshot of the page and send to students through your schools platform or other means of communication

Day 1

Record a video or through text share the following thoughts with your students.

  • What are emotions? Explain that emotions are an individual's mood or feelings.
  • All emotions are ok. What matters is how we express our emotions.
  • What emotions did the Color Monster have jumbled up?

  • Emotions are the way we feel In the story many emotions were shared. What were some of the emotions shared?
  • What emotion am I feeling if I feel like standing on my head? When I have a tummy ache? Yelling really loud?
  • Which emotion do you feel the most often?
  • Should you keep your feelings to yourself?

Encourage students to write a script demonstrating appropriately the emotion of their choice. Using the SiLAS "Create Link" send the link to the students and have them create a social animation.
