Trying New Things - Parent 3

Continued Growth

Home

Your child is participating in classroom activities focused on learning the importance of trying new things. We would love for you to keep the discussion going at home!

Definition: Trying new things means attempting to participate in an activity or complete a task that you have never completed before.

Student Goal: When presented with a new activity or task, the student will try the activity or task independently without making negative comments.

Here are just a few ideas to help get the conversation started:

  • How would your life be if you stopped trying new things?
  • What are the benefits of learning new things?
  • What are some reasons people give to avoid trying something new?
  • Is it easier to try new things with a friend or by yourself?
