Trying New Things - Parent 2

Foundational

Home

Your child is participating in classroom activities focused on helping them understand the importance of trying new things (activities, tasks, games, etc.).

Definition: Trying new things means attempting to participate in an activity or an event that you have never participated in previously.

We would love for you to keep the discussion going at home! Here are just a few ideas to help get the conversation started:

  • Why is it important to try new things?
  • What can happen if you try new things?
  • What do you need to do when you are planning to try something new?
  • Share with your child a situation when you tried something new (task, activity, game, etc.). Discuss how you felt before, during and after.

Activity

Write about something you have been unsure about trying. What steps would you need to take to try?
