Recognizing Strengths - Parent 2

Foundational

Home

Your child is participating in classroom activities focused on learning how to identify their character strengths. We would love for you to keep the discussion going at home!

Definition: A strength is a positive quality about ourselves, such as something we are good at or defines our character.

Here are just a few ideas to help get the conversation started:

  • Ask your child for examples of character strengths they learned about.
  • Review what they feel are their strongest character strengths.
  • Share what your character strengths are. You may also want to share what you think are your child’s character strengths.
  • Encourage your child to notice character strengths in others.

Activity

Draw or write about how you can use your character strengths to help others.
