Basic

Home

Your student is participating in classroom activities helping them learn how to make and be a good friend. We would love for you to keep the discussion going at home! The definition your child was given for making new friends follows with a just a few ideas to help get the conversation started:

Definition: Making new friends means talking to new people you don’t know and spending time getting to know them.

Review the following discussion topics with your child.

Qualities of a good friend:

  • Ask your child what they learned about the qualities of a good friend. Have them list these qualities (ex. a good friend listens, shares, respects, is loyal etc.)
  • Share how you are a good friend and discuss the importance of making/being friends.
  • Have your child talk about their friends and tell how they are like their friends and how they are different from their friends.
