Your child is participating in classroom activities focused on learning how to identify emotions. We would love for you to keep the discussion going at home!
Definition: Emotions are an individual's mood or feelings.
Here are just a few ideas to help get the conversation started:
- Discuss with your child the different emotions they learned about at school.
- Emotions are the feelings we have in different situations.
- Ask your child to show you facial expressions for the following emotions: mad, nervous, confused, silly, sleepy, frustrated, angry, disappointed, sick, and embarrassed.
Activity
Pick some of your favorite picture books. Look through the pictures and find pictures that show different emotions. Draw a picture of your favorite emotion that you found and label it.
