Giving a Compliment - Parent 2

Foundational

Home

Your child is participating in classroom activities focused on learning the importance of giving compliments and how to do so politely.

Definition: A compliment is when you offer praise to someone for something they did, something they have accomplished, or something they possess. Compliments are typically nice phrases to hear and make the person feel good.

We would love for you to keep the discussion going at home! Here are just a few ideas to help get the conversation started:

  • Are compliments positive comments or negative comments?
  • How do compliments make people feel?
  • Why should you give compliments?
  • When should you give someone a compliment?

Activity

Pick three people at home to give a compliment to. Who did you compliment and what compliment did you give them?
