Conflict Resolution - Parent 1
Basic
Home
Your student is participating in classroom activities helping them learn what is conflict resolution and some ideas that they can do on their own to help them in a conflict. We would love for you to keep the discussion going at home!
Definition: Conflict resolution is the ability to assess a social situation that is not going well and to use a strategy to end the situation in a positive way. It is the skill of using a strategy to end a disagreement among 2 or more people in an appropriate manner.
Here are just a few ideas to help get the conversation started:
- What is a conflict?
- How do you feel when you are in a conflict?
- Why should we attempt to solve the conflict in a good or peaceful way?
- Can you give an example of what can cause a conflict?
- What can happen if you don’t handle a conflict correctly?
Activity
Draw a picture or write about a time you had to solve a conflict with a family member.
