Eye Contact - Parent 2
Home
Your child is participating in classroom activities focused on learning the importance of making and maintaining eye contact.
Definition: Eye contact is a form of nonverbal communication that influences the message a person is sending to a receiver. Eye contact should be maintained when you are speaking with someone or when you are listening to someone tell you something.
We would love for you to keep the discussion going at home! Here are just a few ideas to help get the conversation started:
- Is making eye contact with the person you are speaking important?
- Is making eye contact with the person asking you a question or telling you something important?
- When is it important to look at others?
- Should you make eye contact with others outside the house only?
Activity
Make a list of the situations at home when it is important to use eye contact.
